MODESTY TO THE WIND
We are not boasting when we say that our Equity Workshop for Educators and Parents -- Unpacking Antisemitism and AntiZionism in our Schools and Campuses -- exceeded our expectations, by having brought together 90+ educators and parents, (in addition to well over a thousand interested viewers) concerned with the growing, unabated Antisemitism/Antizionism throughout our school system, as well as on campuses, locally and worldwide.
We were gratified to have the HON. Linda Frum, Chair of UJA Federation’s new Countering Antisemitism and Hate committee deliver the official opening remarks, in the name of ALL at the UJA, thanking the audience for attending, and giving special thanks to CILR’s Co-chairs, Goldi and Irving, for their dedication and hard work. Watch her opening remarks here.
Our highly expert educators, Beth Akler, and Cindy Tobias, members of OCT, led the seminar with a PPT presentation, highlighting the imperative of educating themselves, and providing the audience with tools to combat Antisemitism/AntiZionism with facts.
OUR GOAL IS TO STRENGTHEN AND TO FILL THE KNOWLEDGE VOID

3. Jewish Indigeneity is an indisputable, time-honoured and historical fact.
4. It is an imperative to debunk the ‘Occupation lie’ and other false and defamatory accusations against Israel, such as:
Jews stole the land (despite documented proof to the contrary),
Israel is an Apartheid state (despite Arabs citizens having full civil and political rights,
Ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian Arab population (despite the Arab population continuing to grow)
Zionism is Nazism, etc, etc, etc.
A short clip by Col. Richard Kemp was shown, complimenting the IDF as the most moral military in the world. Watch here
In her closing remarks, Lisa Klug, Chair of Educators Against Antisemitism, gave a soulful speech urging community leaders to take action and listen to the fears of our educators who are having difficulty dealing with antisemitic attacks without support from community leaders.
Dr. Neil Orlowsky, Director of Education and Chair of global education of the Abraham Global Peace Initiative closed the seminar with a powerful speech about the daily news of terror attacks against Israeli civilians, and increasing Antisemitism accepted as normal by media bias. We must work to change the narrative, and stand up for our rights with heads raised high, against the those who hate us. Read his closing remarks here
In concluding remarks by Goldi Steiner, Founder and co-chair, thanked the audience for spending their precious Sunday with us, though away from their children, and inspired them to stand strong, and proud with conviction that the Jewish people will prevail.

WE CLOSE WITH A BROKENHEART
We close with a broken heart, and stand with the people of Israel and send our heartfelt condolences to the family of Aryeh Shupak. Our thoughts and prayers are with those wounded in the double bombing in Jerusalem of innocent civilians, and we wish them a speedy and full recovery.
May his memory forever be a blessing.
